{"id":65,"date":"2012-12-18T17:54:48","date_gmt":"2012-12-18T17:54:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.collectedworks.info\/newsblog\/?p=65"},"modified":"2018-07-22T07:54:51","modified_gmt":"2018-07-22T06:54:51","slug":"project-in-a-box-new-edition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.collectedworks.info\/newsblog\/?p=65","title":{"rendered":"Project in a Box &#8211; new edition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.collectedworks.info\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/planningimage5.jpg\" alt=\"planningImage5\" width=\"268\" height=\"168\" align=\"left\" hspace=\"15\" vspace=\"5\" \/>We have long been admirers of the <a title=\"PIAB - Community Edition, a new version\" href=\"http:\/\/www.projectinabox.org.uk\/community.asp\" target=\"_blank\">Community Edition of Project in a Box.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>This great, free resource is one we always recommend to our charity clients &#8211; being a great way think about, plan and deliver projects using the bones of the recognised Prince 2 methodology.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PIAB have just released a new version of the free Community Edition which offers more project planning templates for those less demanding, less layered projects.<\/p>\n<p>You can <a title=\"Simpler solutions for less complex projects\" href=\"http:\/\/www.projectinabox.org.uk\/project_management_method.asp\" target=\"_blank\">use the three step template<\/a> (or the five step for more detailed project planning) in the new system to clearly map your thinking about project formulation, inception and delivery.<\/p>\n<p>If your Third Sector organisation has previously felt rather pale when reviewing project planning methodologies or software like <a title=\"Microsoft Project - Wikipedia tells you more...\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Microsoft_Project\" target=\"_blank\">MsProject<\/a>, then this new Community Edition is just for you.<\/p>\n<p>The new version is also bundled with Planner, another great free resource from PIAB. <a title=\"Register to download the software...simple...\" href=\"http:\/\/www.projectinabox.org.uk\/download.asp\" target=\"_blank\">Check out the PIAB web site for more details<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you can get, as a beginner, past some of the language &#8211; then this free download is a great resource for helping you think clearly about projects, how they are delivered and how they are reported about when finished.
